In Episode #8 we are in Castropignano, Italy with Melissa Ciancio and it is September! September is the month when the Italian ladies make their 1 year supply of Homemade Tomato Sauce. Italians like to make their own pasta sauce because the ones you buy at the store are not organic, contain lots of acid and preservatives. Doing it this way, the Italians control what’s in the sauce, how it’s made, where the tomatoes come from, plus it tastes a lot better when you make it yourself.
