In Episode #42 we are in Castropignano, Italy with special guest Italian Grandmother Nina Scapillati. Nina is going to teach us how to make Italian White Wine Cookies also known as Ciambelline Vino Bianco (White Wine Donuts) . If you have some leftover white wine (all you need is 1 cup) this is a delicious way to use it. If you grew up in a traditional Italian household these cookies will back lots of good memories. Watch to get the step by step instructions on how you can make these Italian cookies. You are going to want to invite your friends over for coffee so they can taste how yummy they are especially if you dip it in your coffee. One important ingredient that Nonna always adds to her recipe is cooking with her heart. So, be sure when you make this you do it with all your heart. Enjoy!
*** Please note that in the video it states you need “yeast”, but that is incorrect. It is “BAKING POWDER” not yeast. So, please use 1 Teaspoon of Baking Powder.
INGREDIDENTS:
– 1 cup of White Wine – (you can use any kind of white wine. It does not matter.)
– ¾ cup of Olive Oil
– 3 ½ Cups of Flour (you may need more, but start off with 3 ½ Cups)
– 1 Cup of Sugar
– 1 Teaspoon of Baking Powder
– Preheat oven 160 degrees Celsius or or 320 degrees Fahrenheit.
– Cook for 20 to 30 minutes.
